Fall Slapping Clinic
Where getting better every day is the focus!

Assisting instructors
Additional instructors will be helping out in order to keep a 4-1 player to coach ratio.
Clinic Goal: Teach players the skills necessary to get on base and how to read the
defense.
Format
Day one: (Soft Slap and Hard Slap)
We will begin by going over the basic mechanics of slapping focusing on three
key areas (footwork, getting in to a good slapping position, and staying on the path of the
ball) We will look at video of the Olympic slappers. Then we go threw the
mechanics of the soft slap and when to use it. We will split into small groups and do drill
work to help learn the mechanics of the soft slap. After that we will go threw the
technique of the hard slap. We will split into small groups and do drill work to help learn
the mechanics of the hard slap. To finish we will practice doing both the soft slap and
hard slap off of front toss.
Day two: (Bunting 1st base & 3rd base, Push Bunt)
We will begin by reviewing the basic mechanics of slapping, the soft slap, and the hard
slap. Then we will go over bunting techniques. We will start off with bunting down the
1st base line. Then we will practice bunting down the 3rd base line. We will finish with the
push bunt.
Day three: (Bloop Slap, Chop Slap, Power Slap)
We will begin by reviewing the basic mechanics of slapping, the soft slap, hard slap, and
bunting. Then we will the mechanics of the bloop slap, chop slap, and power slap. we
will place targets for the players to aim for.
Day four: (Reading The Defense)
We will begin by reviewing all the different tools we have learned with the slap. then we
will go threw situations and defenses and how to take advantage of them.
Cost $100.00 (for 4 weeks of clinics)
Clinic will be limited to a certain number of players. Clinic will be filled on a first come
first serve basis and will fill up quickly.

any injury which may be sustained by my child as a result of participation in the complete
pitching clinic. Furthermore, I certify that within the past year my child has had a
physical examination and that she is physically able to participate in softball activities. In
the event of illness or injury, I hereby give consent for medical treatment and permission
to the attending physician to hospitalize, secure proper treatment, and order injections,
anesthesia, or surgery.
